Friday 12th Oct 2007 - Today is Cai's second Birthday. Here he looks at a present from his swiss auntie.
It has been a long hard two years, but the first year was the worst and we hope things continue to improve. we would like to thank all those that helped Cai get this far, we won't forget the help we have had from nurses doctors, surgeon's and kinder spitex. We will also not forget the physiotherapists, speech therapists and of course the family who helped, from the moment Cai was first born, so give yourselfs a pat on the back you deserve it!. Kerstin should also take a pat on the back for the many many hours she has given putting theory into practice.
Cai likes to shock us now and again, last week i forgot to mention that I came down to a very shaken kinder spitex nurse who had just witnessed Cai stop breathing, he was luckily fine after a few moments, but it is still a shocking thing to see. Today things got to much again and as the last present was played with Cai stooped breathing and cry of "do something" echoed around the room, he started breathing then stopped again, but by the time I placed him on his bed and the oxygen was ready he was breathing again, it is still distressing to see even though we have seen it a couple of times before.
Cai is back to normal and we have had a lovely day, well apart from me who is suffering from a stomach bug since wednesday, I hope Cai doesn't mind me borrowing some of his nappies.
We are still waiting for his new hearing apparatus to arrive and he will also now have an eyesight check up.
I have also decided that we will stop with a Cai only gallery and do a general weekly gallery and including more news of the other boys in the family otherwise they might feel too left out. You will find this on the home page http://www.thattimeoflife.smugmug.com
Happy Bithday Cai! Penblwyd Hapus Cai!
As there is a postal strikein the UK, if you want to add birthday greetings to the comments section, feel free and we will pass them onto Cai
