Thursday 20th Oct 05 - Look no tubes - well only a little one
Cai is for the moment breathing for himself, but before we jump for joy there is a slight problem in that he sometimes has spasms and when he does, he stops breathing for a moment, whilst we were there he managed to cough and recover himself so we are hoping he has a good night and keeps breathing unaided. Another day and another problem, they found during the operation today that his vocal chords are paralysed open, this means he can breathe but not eat or drink as it would end up in his lungs, hence the small tube in his nostril through which he is being fed. His right nostril is totally blocked but not of concern at the moment. More on his Indian headband later.
